Chaoyang Science Park was an electronic industrial base known as "the cradle of China's electronics industry" during the First Five-Year Plan period. In 2012, Chaoyang Science Park was established as approved by the State Council, which marked the formation of a spatial pattern featuring "One Park and Six Areas" (One Park refers to Chaoyang Science Park and Six Areas refer to Eastern Area of Electronic City, Western Area of Electronic City, Northern Area of Electronic City, Wangjing Area, Jianxiang Area and Fatou Central Area) and had a planning area of 26.1 kilometres. Chaoyang Science Park is known as the hub of scientific and technological innovation and the core area of the digital economy of Chaoyang District. It is also one of the core supporting areas in the construction of the "Two Zones" (the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up China's Services Sector and China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone).Chaoyang Science Park has the following features in its development:

It has hosted the Future Forum, increasing the influence of the Future Science Prize.

Fifth, the space suitable for living and industrial development has been expanding
Chaoyang Science Park is speeding up the construction of "One Park and Six Areas". The first, second and third phases of the construction of the Eastern Area of Electronic City Headquarters have been completed; the primary land development in the Western Area has finished; the construction within the Fifth Ring has also been completed, and the four pieces of land outside the Fifth Ring are ready for transaction. The integrated planning, design and compilation work of the former Beijing Coking Chemical Factory in Fatou Central Area has been completed. Besides, Great Wangjing Technological and Business Innovation District has completed its construction, while high-end business buildings like Greenland Centre, Posco Centre and Poly International Plaza have been in use. The Beijing Office Centre of Alibaba has accelerated its construction, while the supportive project of "Three Internationals and One Future", i.e., international talents' apartments, international hospitals, international schools and the permanent site of Future Forum, has been established. Currently, the Park has over 70 key business buildings and 5 projects under construction. It is expected that another 380,000 square metres will be put for industrial use in the next 3 years, which will provide important space for more industrial projects to come.
