As an important window for Beijing's foreign relations, Chaoyang is home to nearly 100% of foreign embassies in China, 90% of the city's international media organizations, 80% of international organizations and international chambers of commerce, over 70% of international investment companies and regional headquarters, over 65% of foreign financial institutions, and 50% of the foreign population. The area is home to several foreign-related hotels and other foreign-related institutions (venues), making it an important area for foreign affairs activities in the capital. There is a high concentration of expatriates and several streets having international communities.

International Organizations and Chambers of Commerce

Chaoyang District is committed to building a new highland for Beijing's opening to the outside world. 80% of international chambers of commerce and organizations in Beijing choose to be stationed at Chaoyang District, which makes Chaoyang District serve as the engine of foreign trade and economic development of the capital and become an international trade hub of Beijing.

More than 50% of international conferences and over 30% of international exhibitions in Beijing are held in Chaoyang District.

To act as the "Global Communication Window, World Culture Exchange Platform and National Sport Leisure Centre", Chaoyang District hopes to turn itself into "a meeting hall" to help maintain and develop global connections.

Beijing Olympic Park

As the core zone of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2022 Winter Olympics and the world's first "Double Olympic Park", the Beijing Olympic Park is located between the North Fourth Ring Road and North Fifth Ring Road in Chaoyang District.

Many high-end events such as the 2014 APEC Summit, the 2015 World Athletics Competition, the 2017 Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the 2018 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 2019 Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations were held here.

China National Convention Centre

China National Convention Centre (CNCC), the largest and newest convention centre with strategic location and perfect surrounding facilities in China, has become a landmark in Chaoyang District and even in Beijing.

Since it was officially put into operation in November 2009, CNCC has hosted many high-end international conferences and exhibitions, such as China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), Beijing International Film Festival the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and has become an important window showing Beijing image.
