Wangjing Walk
With international features, Wangjing Walk is home to international bazaars, street exhibitions, art corridors and interactive musical fountains.
With myriad elements of fashion design, the chances are that you are likely to post pictures on your WeChat Moments, sharing up to nine photos per post after a tour to the street.
Wangjing Walk is 380 meters long. It starts from Wangjing Street in the north and ends at Furong Street in the south, flanked by Beijing Vanke Times Center and Fangheng Shopping Mall. Built more than a decade ago, Wangjing Walk has been plagued by many problems, including a chaotic environment, broken roads, and an outdated form of business. In 2020, Chaoyang District adopted the approach of a multi-party contribution involving government investment and private capital. Together with Beijing Vanke Times Center and Fangheng Shopping Mall, the district government renovated the street and upgraded the business form.
The environment of the upgraded Wangjing Walk has improved substantially, giving play to the basic functions of the pedestrian street and completely resolving the problem of improper parking of motor and non-motor vehicles. Various featured landscapes have made the neighborhood more dynamic. To attract visitors by leveraging cultural elements, Wangjing Walk has kept launching new themed wonderful activities. From food tasting, characteristic bazaars, fashion shows to art exhibitions and civilized practices, all have been widely praised by the public.
At present, Wangjing Walk has been transformed into an international new business street integrating business offices, shopping, leisure, life, art, and intelligence. It has become an instagrammable location in the district, with an average daily visitor flow of 21,000 people. It is the “model” of Chaoyang District for carrying out street renewal.
Binhe Road on the North Side of Liangma River
Binhe Road on the North Side of Liangma River is located in the south side of the thriving commercial area of Sanyuan Bridge and Yansha Center, close to the Third Embassy Quarter, with a total length of 870m.
Before the renovation, due to the closed greening of units along the river, unapproved construction and other reasons, the average width of the road was less than two meters and could not be connected along the river, resulting in inconvenient travel for residents.
After the renovation, the units along the river vacated the parking lot, opened the green space and demolished unapproved properties. The move has realized the smooth connection of “building, green space and waterfront,” bringing the beautiful scenery of green water integration to the residents and enterprises along the line and adding popularity and vitality to the commercial area.
