Launched in 2018 by Meituan, The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide is the first restaurant guide aims to propose a standard for Chinese food and create a restaurant guide of Chinese.  The Guide is published annually and all restaurants are evaluated from culinary skills, consumer experience, and inheritance and innovation. Up to date, Black Pearl restaurants are increasingly representing the food culture of their cities, setting benchmarks for exquisite catering in China, and becoming important windows to spread China's food culture.

This year, many new restaurants in Chaoyang District have been inscribed on the list,
