New Football Stadium Built in Line with International Standards in Chaoyang
The iconic statue of a male worker and a female worker has returned to its original place; the new "cap" on the stands resembles a "giant steel bowl"; the upgraded stands allow spectators to enjoy games at any point... The Workers’ Stadium has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as an advanced and stylish football stadium. Despite its sleek new look, the stadium still emanates a sense of intimacy and familiarity, much like catching up with an old friend we haven’t seen for a long time.
A better experience
At the north entrance of the stadium, the iconic statue once again stands tall and welcomes fans with open arms.
Upon entering the stadium, visitors are met with a renewed sense of modernity and freshness, as the overall experience has been significantly improved since the upgrades were completed. For example, the internal passages and lobbies of the stadium have been revamped to create a brighter and more spacious environment, equipped with newly-added elevators and escalators.
Electronic display screens have been installed near the entrances to the stands and restrooms, displaying seat numbers, real-time match information, and statistics. This ensures that even when away from their seats, fans can stay up-to-date with the latest situation on the field.
Once inside the stadium, the improved experience is even more noticeable. Visitors will appreciate the widely spaced seating arrangement, taller seatbacks, and convenient cup holders that all contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable viewing experience.
The first level of seating in the new stadium has been situated below ground level. To maximize ventilation, air vents have been added beneath the seats. This modification is expected to provide spectators with a significantly better experience during games in summer.
Get a closer look
The seating area is comprised of four levels, namely the first level, the second level, the executive level, and the top level. No matter which level they are seated in, fans can have an unobstructed 360-degree view of every corner of the field. With 68,000 green seats, the stands can now accommodate approximately 3,000 more spectators than the old Workers' Stadium.
The front-row seats are almost connected with the substitute bench and warm-up area. The closest distance from the stand to the field of play is only 8.5 meters, meeting FIFA's top-level standard. On the west side of the stands, the substitute bench and players' warm-up area are clearly visible. During the game, you can witness players communicating with substitutes, observe their facial expressions, and even see the sweat dripping down their foreheads.
On a par with a World Cup stadium
According to the on-site staff, the new stadium has been designed and constructed in accordance with FIFA's standards. The circular LED screens under the stands at the Qatar World Cup stadiums can be seen at the New Workers' Stadium. These LED screens greatly enhance the lively atmosphere during matches, creating an immersive multi-sensory experience for spectators. Additionally, they promise to provide the stadium with a more creative and artistic presentation for future operations.
Featuring a larger size and a higher definition, two 300-square-meter LED screens are installed at a 30-degree inward angle at the north and south sides of the stands, ensuring that spectators from all corners of the venue can easily enjoy the match.
