The 13th International Community Season of 2023 Maizidian Sub-district commenced on May 25 in Chaoyang District, Beijing. This exciting event showcases a wide array of attractions, including delectable food, exquisite coffee, and intriguing exotic cultures, as well as authentic Chinese-style tea, cultural and creative products, and fascinating intangible cultural heritage. Both Chinese and foreign visitors will have the opportunity to partake in a diverse range of online and offline activities over the next four months.

A performance presented by Chinese and foreign children

Maizidian Sub-district is where the Third Embassy Quarter is located. Its residents hail from various countries and regions. During the event, visitors had the opportunity to interact with and take photos alongside Chinese girls dressed in traditional Hanfu (traditional clothes of the Han ethnic group), as well as foreign girls dressed in fashionable Western attire. The opening ceremony featured captivating performances, including those featuring Toning drum percussion and folk dances.

The cultural fair

According to an official in charge of Maizidian Sub-district, a total of 13 international community culture festivals have been successfully organized, drawing an ever-growing number of attendees from both local and international communities. It is said that all proceeds from booth charges within the special exhibition zone will be allocated for charitable purposes. The proceeds will be utilized to provide essential daily necessities, such as food, to the impoverished families residing within the sub-district.
