Chaoyang District, Beijing, plans to extend its greenway mileage from 270 to 415 kilometers.

On June 2, the 2023 Garden Festival for Beijing Residents kicked off in Jiangfu Park, Chaoyang District. With the theme of "Let's Meet in the Universe of Ecological Gardens", the festival, for the first time, integrates five brand activities, namely Love Green, Nature Notes of Beijing, Garden Festival for Beijing Residents, Horticulture Competition for Beijing Residents, and Ecological Gifts. It innovatively introduces the concept of the "Universe of Ecological Gardens" and showcases Beijing's achievements in ecological civilization education and horticulture station construction in an all-round way.

Chaoyang District plans to extend its greenway mileage from 270 to 415 kilometers. In addition, it takes full advantage of vacant land, gaps on both sides of the roads, the fifth facade, and vertical surfaces, inserting green in any possible spaces. At present, the district boasts 16,080.42 hectares of green space in built-up urban areas and 6,399.8 hectares of green space in parks, ranking first in Beijing.
