Taikang Art Museum Opens: Beijing CBD Embraces Another Art Landmark
Located at the core area of Beijing CBD, Taikang Art Museum (TAM) was officially open to the public on August 22. Its debut titled Engaging with the World: Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art Since the Dawn of the 20th Century will run until January 12, 2024. The operation of TAM reflects the progress made by Taikang in the art and public welfare domains, marking that Taikang has embarked on a brand new journey.
TAM, a non-profit private art museum, is committed to advancing the development, research, and collection of contemporary Chinese art. Founded by Taikang Insurance Group, TAM has evolved from TAIKANG SPACE, an art institution renowned for two decades of operational experience.
The vision of TAM is to integrate art into the life of the general public and to create a new cultural landmark in the city. In its pursuit of academic excellence, TAM has emphasized modern Chinese art since the 20th century, contemporary art, and future-oriented new art. The museum focuses on appreciating, researching, and collecting contemporary artworks from a historical view. TAM aims to organize and showcase the relationship between Chinese art and the development of the times for over a century. Moreover, it depicts the story of China's development through art.
Looking ahead, TAM will leverage the history and expertise of TAIKANG SPACE to help creators and visitors understand and embrace the artistic visions and aspirations.
