If you’re an A, B, C category foreign talent in Chaoyang district, you are strongly recommended to come to the Beijing CBD International Talent One-stop Service Center to apply for joint processing of your work permit and residence permit.

Category A (Foreign High-End Talent)

High-end foreign talent refer to the high-grade, top-notch, and sought-after foreign talent such as scientists, technology leaders, international entrepreneurs, and specialized talent of certain fields who are urgently needed for China's economic and social development.

Category B (Foreign Professional Talent)

Foreign professional talent should hold a bachelor's degree or higher, and have at least two years of relevant working experience. They should be professionals who are urgently needed according to the requirements of their position and for China's economic and social development in line with the Guidance Catalogue of Foreigners Working in China.

Category C (Other Foreigners)

Foreigners engaged in temporary or short-term posts (no longer than 90 days); foreign students and foreign graduates of overseas universities who meet prescribed conditions.

The application of “Work Permit for Foreigners in China” should be the first step. According to the business type applied, you need to submit all the required materials online in the Service system for foreigners working in China (fuwu.most.gov.cn). If your application has been pre-approved in the system, then you could make an appointment to submit your materials offline with any site convenient for you.

We recommend you choose Beijing CBD International Talent One-stop Service Center to submit your materials.

The Center has five counters in total. No.1-3 are comprehensive counters. The other two are joint application service counter and Exit and Entry service counter.

Taking the first-time application of work permit as an example, foreign professional talent who have already received the “Notification Letter” and would like to apply for a work permit for the first time, are encouraged to first go to comprehensive counter to submit the required documents, including a valid VISA or short-term residence permit, appointment sheet, and their original Chinese physical examination record (this is not necessary if he or she has already submitted while applying for the Notification Letter). After this, the applicant shall provide three basic information, after which the applicant will be directed to Exit and Entry service counter.

You will need to have carried out a valid accommodation registration at the local police station or hotel, and bring a valid passport or other international travel documents, and submit a Foreigner Visa Application Form with a recent full-faced, bareheaded, color photo of 2-inch with a white background, and a letter of approval for visa application from your employer. Applicants will then be asked to have their photo taken in the One-stop Service Center. The staff will review the materials and issue the applicant with a receipt reading that you’ve made a joint certificate application.
