Chaoyang District will accelerate the construction of a sleepless city and continue to hold

the Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival

to provide citizens and tourists with immersive, experiential,

and interactive characteristic experience.

In 2023, the 21-day First Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival attracted the attention of more than 700 million people both domestically and overseas, facilitating sales of nearly RMB 2.1 billion in key business districts.

The Light Festival launched a series of immersive, experiential, and interactive themed light shows and innovative night tour products. Among them, 70% of the lighting facilities such as “Creation of All Things” and “Roaming amidst Flower Shadow” were permanently retained, enriching the nighttime entertainment options available to citizens.

The Light Festival is the epitome of building a sleepless city.

Over the past five years, Chaoyang District has gradually realized its nightscape lighting planning and built a number of representative night landscapes, such as the Beijing Olympic Tower, the Dawangjing architectural complex, the extension line of Chang’an Avenue, and the 3rd Ring Road. This initiative has enhanced the upgraded nightscape of buildings along the Liangma River while lighting up “the warmest administrative corridor” of the eastern extension line of Chang’an Avenue, as well as the “business corridor with the highest quality” of the core section of East 3rd Ring Road.

Chaoyang District is accelerating its efforts to build a sleepless city featuring the experience of visiting the Liangma River, strolling around the “Golden Cross” area, immersing in the new Chaoyang, shopping in fashionable business circles, and appreciating the Chinese style during the night. It aims to create immersive light and shadow scenes reflecting the grandeur and style of a great country, the capital, and Chaoyang District.
