Come to Chaoyang for a Lantern Festival
As the Chinse New Year approaches, Beijing Wenyuhe Park will launch the first Megalight Wonderland on February 2, which will showcase the famous colorful lanterns from Zigong in Sichuan Province and feature a combination of dining, sightseeing, shopping, and lantern watching experiences.
The festival venue is divided into six areas on different themes: "Auspicious Loong's Blessings", "Wenyu's Myths", "Magic Zone", "Vast Interstellar Space", "Enchanted Jungle", and "New Year Blessings". Lifelike giant loongs, cyberpunk-style robots, mysterious whales, and fantastical cosmic spaces are just a few of over a thousand lantern displays of different styles and types. These displays will immerse the audience in a fantastical world of brilliant lights.

The annual light show will start as scheduled, blending Chinese New Year traditions with dazzling lights. From the first to the fifth day of the Chinese New Year, Beijing Folklore Museum will hold the "Thirteen Performances with Flags and Drums" flower fair at THE BOX Chaowai Youth Power Center and Markor Cave, to present Beijing's traditional life scenes featuring street vendors, flat-topped acrobatics, clay sculptures, and hairy monkeys (a kind of unique folk artifacts). During the holiday, a digital cultural festival "Celebrating Chinese New Year in the Forbidden City" at the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) will use modern technologies, such as holographic projection and digital interaction, to showcase the Palace Museum's paintings and customs-related collections through innovative scenes, dynamic visual effects, and entertaining plots.
