How to apply if not staying in hotels

(1) On-site registration

Either you or the landlord should apply for registration with a local public security station in your area of residence within 24 hours of arrival.

(2) Online registration

You may complete online registration through the services column of the official website of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality: https://zwfw.gaj.beijing.gov.cn/zsdj/zsdj-w/. The website can be accessed in English, French, Korean, Japanese, and Russian.

Materials required:

1. Valid identity documents (passport, Permanent Resident ID Card, etc.)
2. If the address provided is of a privately-owned residence, you should submit the property ownership certificate; if the address provided is of a rental property, you should submit the leasing contract; those staying in another person’s residence should submit the identity document of the owner or actual tenant of the residence.

Notes: Foreign nationals who have changed or renewed their exit and entry documents, such as Visa and Stay permits, or have changed their residence addresses should contact the public security stations at their places of residence in a timely manner.
