01 Schools for children of foreign nationals

There are 13 schools (out of the total 17 in Beijing) in Chaoyang District that specifically cater to children of foreign nationals. These schools follow a diverse educational philosophy and prioritize international curricula. They aim to meet the educational needs of children of foreign nationals who are either working for foreign institutions, foreign-funded enterprises, the China office of international organizations, or have residence permits in Beijing.

 

Additionally, the three schools in Beijing that cater to the children of embassy staff are all located in Chaoyang District.These schools primarily admit children of embassy staff from respective countries and children of employees from Beijing-based foreign enterprises.

 

Such schools offer A-level, AP, IB, IPC, Australian high school, Canadian high school, French, German, ROK, and other international courses.

02 Regular primary and secondary schools and kindergartens

Foreign students can apply for enrollment in regular primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, both public and private, and are fully eligible to participate in all the educational activities available to Chinese students.

There are 14 private schools with international features. These schools adopt Chinese-foreign integrated teaching methods and prioritize foreign language instruction to meet the needs of Chinese and foreign families seeking an international education while ensuring state-required compulsory courses.

There are also public schools with strong international features and rich experience in the education of international students. One such example is the International Section of Fangcaodi International School, which has developed textbooks such as Fangcao Hanyu,providing an integrated bilingual program tailor-made for international students.
