"How many possibilities can a public library hold?

Chaoyang District Library is exploring the answer to this question."

On February 7,

the renovated Chaoyang District Library (Jinsong Hall) reopened.

On its first day of reopening,

what are the highlights?

Let's take a look.

The most significant change is the addition of a public area to the west side of the first floor, named "Chaoyang District Library · Extra Space".

This space features various-sized cubicles — some as small as 2–3 square meters, ideal for parent-child reading, and others equipped with long tables for small reader meetups.

The "Extra Space" serves multiple functions, including public reading, coffee and light meals, cultural and creative displays, and event exhibitions.

The renovation took over 50 days, reshaping the interior and adding nearly 600 square meters of open space and 42 new seats.

Additionally, the Jinsong Hall now hosts various exhibitions, allowing readers to experience the evolution of art and culture across time.

Moving forward, the library will organize "small yet elegant" events such as author signings, writer-reader meetups, and vintage book markets, aiming to attract more young people to fall in love with the library.

This new year,

let's embark on a reading journey together.

⏰Opening hours: 9:00–21:00 from Tuesday to Sunday
