This Park in Beijing Wins Gold Award of 'Green Oscars'

The global finals of the 2025 LivCom Awards (the International Awards for Liveable Communities, which are reputed as the "Green Oscars") have just concluded in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Beijing Wenyuhe Park (Chaoyang Section) won the Gold Award of Environmental Sustainability Projects for its outstanding practices in ecological conservation and sustainable development.

The park spans three districts — Chaoyang, Shunyi, and Changping. The Chaoyang Section covers a total area of approximately 17.7 square kilometers. Its first phase has been open to the public since 2022, and in September 2025, its second phase officially opened, along with the second phases of the Shunyi and Changping sections.

The competition this year featured 38 projects and 30 cities from 35 different countries advancing to the finals. The evaluations focused on six core dimensions, including landscape enhancement, cultural heritage management, and environmental actions. Among all the finalists, the Beijing Wenyuhe Park (Chaoyang Section) achieved the highest overall score in the project category in terms of environment, climate responses, and green economy initiatives, winning the "Special Award" in this category.
