International Children’s Recitation of Chinese Poetry Event Successfully Held
On May 29, the International Children’s Recitation of Chinese Poetry event was successfully held in Beijing. The event was hosted by the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Chaoyang District People’s Government, and organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Chaoyang District People’s Government and the Education Committee of Chaoyang District. Children from five international schools gathered to celebrate International Children’s Day through the recitation of Chinese poetry.

This event conveyed a message to children from various countries, encouraging them to be young ambassadors of Chinese culture, relay runners of Chinese-foreign friendship, and builders of the future world, while upholding the values of peace, inclusiveness, and shared prosperity.
A total of 123 children from 41 countries presented 14 poetry recitation performances. The event consisted of three chapters: “Childhood in Poetry”, “Four Seasons in Poetry”, and “China in Poetry”. Children recited classic Chinese poems through a combination of dance, scene plays, and songs, vividly showcasing the beauty and profound cultural depth of Chinese poetry.
Using poetry as a medium, the event enabled foreign children to access China’s fine traditional culture, experience Eastern aesthetics and life philosophy, and create unforgettable memories on International Children’s Day. Commemorative certificates were also presented to youth representatives from various international schools during the event.
In 2026, the Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries launched the “Global Friends · Gathering in Beijing” series to build bridges for people-to-people exchanges, cultural interactions, and youth friendship, supporting Beijing’s development of international sister cities.
