It is forecast that there will be thunderstorms in most areas of Beijing from 17:00 on July 31 to 5:00 on August 1, with heavy short-term rainfall in Yanqing, Changping, Huairou, Miyun, Pinggu, Shunyi, Tongzhou and other districts, accompanied by gusts of above force 7.

Precautions are advised for your own safety.

1. If you are working outdoors, stay away from high ground and trees, and stop any work at heights or over water.

2. Avoid touching exposed metal objects, such as shovels, antennas, water pipes, wire fences, or gas pipes.

3. Close and stay away from doors and windows, and avoid using phones or other plugged-in electrical devices.

4. Be aware of the potential for short bursts of high winds, heavy rain, or hailstorms that may accompany thunderstorms.
