It is forecast that there will be thunderstorms in Beijing from 12:00 on August 7 to 2:00 on August 8, with heavy short-term rainfall intensity, accompanied by short-term strong winds above force 7. 

Precautions are advised for your own safety.

1. If you are working outdoors, stay away from high ground and trees, and stop any work at heights or over water.

2. Avoid touching exposed metal objects, such as shovels, antennas, water pipes, wire fences, or gas pipes.

3. Close and stay away from doors and windows, and avoid using phones or other plugged-in electrical devices.

4. Be aware of the potential for short bursts of high winds, heavy rain, or hailstorms that may accompany thunderstorms.

The Beijing Water Authority and the Beijing Meteorological Service jointly issued a yellow warning of flash flood risk at 9:00 on August 7. From 12:00 on August 7 to 8:00 on August 8, there is a high probability of flash flood disasters in Shijingshan and Mentougou districts of Beijing (orange risk); other mountainous areas face a relatively high probability of flash flood disasters (yellow risk). The public is advised to stay away from flash flood channels, suspend outdoor activities involving mountains and water, and take all precautions to avoid flash flood disasters.
