CULTURAL ZONES AND PARKS

Chaoyang District is aiming to build a new cultural and leisured life centring around cultural industry parks. Reading, entertainment and interactive facilities are introduced to the parks to bring more artistic and cultural elements into daily life and meet the diversified spiritual and cultural needs of residents through cultural activities such as art markets, theater festivals, cultural festivals, literary salons, etc.

National Cultural Industry Innovation Experiment Zone

Situated on both sides of Tonghui River in Chaoyang District, the National Cultural Experiment Zone begins with East Second Ring Road in the west, reaches Bali qiao in the east, and extends to the Workers' Stadium North Road in the north, and Guangqu Road in the south, with an area of 78 square kilometres and building volume about 3,810,000 square metres. It is a new name card for establishing the "national cultural centre" for Beijing.

As of now, there are 46,000 registered cultural enterprises, 59 cultural industry parks in the National Cultural Industry Innovation Experiment Zone. In 2020, 1,102 cultural enterprises in the zone have achieved 104.68 billion yuan in revenue. In addition, it has more than 200 high-tech enterprises such as Geo, 49 listed companies such as Zhangyue Technology and Shunya International, 5 cultural unicorns such as IGet App and Taihe Music, and 146 cultural headquarters enterprise such as Wanda Culture, leading the innovative development of cultural industry in China.

KEY CHARACTERISTIC CULTURAL AND CREATIVE PARKS

By actively exploring the cultural wealth of old factories, Chaoyang District has transformed and upgraded more than 60 old factories such as 798, 751, Laijin, Langyuan, Marco Polo, Hengtong, Huitong, and Sailong into cultural industry parks, covering nearly 3 million square metres. It has become the most concentrated area and the most typical pilot area for the transformation and development of old factories into cultural industry parks in China. In the meantime, the district has initiated the establishment of China's first alliance for protecting old factories and developing the urban culture.

Beijing Capital Langyuan Vintage

With a total area of nearly 30,000 square metres, Beijing Capital Langyuan Vintage is positioned as "CBD's paradise" and is committed to becoming "China's first-class comprehensive cultural development platform" and "the most humanistic urban cultural business centre". Beijing Capital Langyuan Vintage holds nearly 500 cultural activities every year, becoming the most active spiritual highland for CBD culture.

751 Park (751 D·PARK Beijing Fashion Design Plaza)

751 Park is a cultural industry pilot park in Beijing and a platform for the activities of international high-end brand and the debut of original and innovative products at home and abroad. It caters to a variety of business activities including creation, display, launch  and transaction by creating a space of public culture based on industrial sites.

Dongyi International Media Industrial Park

Dongyi International Media Industrial Park, positioned as a "Media Park", is a high-quality, international and ecological cultural industry cluster that has some influence in Beijing and even the whole country. It has a unique garden-style office environment, leading the trend and the coordinated development of industrial and ecological clusters. After 12 years of operation, Dongyi International Media Industrial Park now has more than 200 cultural enterprises, and complete supporting facilities such as studios, art galleries, conference centres, book bars, etc., integrating business, culture and leisure activities.

E9 Innovation Workshop

To integrate culture and technology, E9 Innovation Workshop creates a cultural and technological integration industry cluster that integrates industrial heritages experience, accelerated start-ups incubation, public cultural content operations, and creative life and leisure facilities. It was nominated as one of the first batch of city-level pilot parks in Beijing in 2020.

Tonghui Riverside Cultural Industrial Park

Focusing on the integration of culture and technology, the Tonghui Riverside Cultural Industry Park, a riverside garden-style industrial park, integrates cultural media, Internet, tourism, and leisure activities. By creating a casual public space and organizing activities such as movie watching, cultural parties, reading salons, etc., it provides a variety of cultural services and experiences for enterprises and citizens in the Park.

Pingfang Park of Beijing Film Academy Film and Television Culture Industry Innovation Park

It focuses on high-quality film and television resources, actively fulfils its social responsibilities, and holds the award ceremony of "The Strongest Child", "A Little Star at Home" Children's Charity Spring Festival Gala, "Books Drifting" charity activities, etc. At the same time, it builds service platform and cultural finance online service platform to help more small and micro cultural enterprises to solve the three major entrepreneurial difficulties in talent, capital and market and promote economic and social benefits.

Beijing Marco Polo Industrial Park

Beijing Marco Polo Industrial Park, which opened in 2012, is the successor to the Beijing Foreign Trade Sanjianfang Handicraft Warehouse. In 2020, it became the "City-level Cultural Industrial Park in Beijing", and was selected as a traditional cultural inheritance base of Chaoyang District, and a social education unit for Beijing primary and secondary schools. More than 200 cultural events such as large-scale lectures, intangible cultural heritage art exhibitions, cultural and art festivals are held here every year, with more than 40,000 participants.

FunsTown, located at No.18 A, Fangjia Village, Gaobeidian Township, adheres to the concept of resource integration and cultural symbiosis. It has five major types of business — creative office, experiential commerce, Hey Town Art Centre, Zhixiao Picture Book Store and Huohua Shared Space, lt focuses on creating an all — ecological cultural and creative town that is interesting and supportive, and encourages resource sharing and mutual help in the neighborhood.

Giri (Beijing) International Art Zone

Giri (Beijing) International Art Zone used to be a typical industrial site. As Beijing repositions its function as the capital, Giri has successfully transformed from the "tile economy" of the industrial age to "cultural creativity" based on preserving heritages by using modern architectural concepts and techniques. Giri (Beijing) International Art Zone has cultural facilities such as Shixiang Space, Zhang Guangyu Memorial Hall, Wu Dayu Memorial Hall, and Giri Star Space, and holds more than 200 non-profit cultural activities each year.
