As of October this year, there had been 290 “Two Zones” development projects in Chaoyang District, among which 128 were foreign-funded, accounting for 44% of the total. The number of ongoing foreign-funded projects and projects under negotiations on investment promotion has ranked among the city's forefront.

On December 7, sponsored by Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and organized by Guangming Online, the third theme shooting activity of “Beijing · A Global City” Short Video Contest was held at the International Style Waterfront of the Liangma River in Chaoyang District. Chinese and international teachers and students from Beijing Technology and Business University and Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication and other colleges and universities participated in the event.

Recently, Festival of National Cuisine SCO - Beijing CBD was launched in Beijing CBD. The SCO Secretariat and ambassadors of member countries came to eight restaurants in the core zone of Beijing CBD such as China World Trade Center, Beijing Yintai Centre, and the CP Center, to make their hometown cuisine which will remain in the special menus of these restaurants. In the future, Beijing citizens can taste the authentic cuisine of countries along the Silk Road without going abroad.

Through district recommendations and after rounds of selections, the List of the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Alleys in Beijing 2021” has been unveiled, with one alley in Chaoyang District included in the final list, and another one nominated.

From January to September this year, 550 foreign-funded enterprises were newly registered in Chaoyang District, marking the highest figure among all districts in Beijing and growing by 59.4 percent YoY, which accounted for 39.1 percent of the total in the city. Both the foreign investment in actual use and contractual foreign investment secured the evident YoY growth.

District running tests to ensure smooth and better management

Situated in eastern Beijing, Chaoyang District is the largest and the most populous urban area in Beijing, covering a total area of 470.8 square kilometres. Administering 24 subdistricts, 19 townships (466 communities and 144 villages altogether), it has a permanent population of 3.452 million.Chaoyang has become an economic powerhouse and a significant window for foreign trade in Beijing.

The opening ceremony of the "Beijing-a Global City" short video contest was held on 12th, October in CBD, Chaoyang. The Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Guangming Online are jointly organizing "Beijing· A Global City" Short Video Contest in pursuit of three goals: to tell China's and Beijing's stories well and make their voices heard; to vividly display the latest progress of Beijing as the center for international exchanges; to present a true, multi-dimensional and panoramic view of Beijing as a global city, and improve its international stature

The 2021 Lidu International Open-air Music and Film Week will be held from September 25 to October 5, aiming to build a closer link with enterprises in the business area and attract film and music lovers, tourists, and residents. The event will take place in two streets and the lounge in Lidu business district. The event will be held for five days, including two large concerts, three small concerts, and 10 movie screenings.

On the afternoon of September 19, the 10th Langyuan International Creative Culture Festival was officially launched. Since 2012, the festival has been held for nine consecutive years. This year, the 10th Langyuan International Creative Culture Festival will explore new industrial formats and business models through the construction of new cultural consumption scenes. Among them, Langyuan Vintage, located in the CBD, is full of artistic atmosphere and integrates culture, art and consumption.
